PRO-BANTHINE DESCRIPTION:
PROPANTHELINE - ORAL (pro-PAN-thuh-leen)

PRO-BANTHINE SIDE EFFECTS:
PRO-BANTHINE may cause stomach ache, flushing, problems sleeping, headache, blurred vision, constipation, dry mouth, reduced sweating, drowsiness or thirst. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: confusion, tremors, irregular pulse, rapid heartbeat, difficulty urinating. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE PRO-BANTHINE:
PRO-BANTHINE: Take PRO-BANTHINE 30 minutes before meals. Take PRO-BANTHINE as prescribed. Do not increase the dose or take it more frequently without consulting your doctor. Drink plenty of fluids while taking PRO-BANTHINE unless your doctor directs you otherwise.

PRO-BANTHINE USES:
Propantheline is used, in combination with other medicine, to treat peptic ulcers. Do not take propantheline for stomach ache due to gas or for any problem other than the one for which it was specifically prescribed.

OTHER USES OF PRO-BANTHINE:
PRO-BANTHINE may also be used for other digestive tract problems (irritable bowel syndrome) and in cases where control over urine flow is desired (for urinary incontinence).

PRO-BANTHINE PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: glaucoma, enlarged prostate gland, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid gland, liver disease, heart or blood vessel disease, kidney disease, myasthenia gravis (a muscle problem), difficulty urinating, contact lens usage, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema or other lung disease, any allergies. Because PRO-BANTHINE may cause drowsiness, use caution when driving or performing tasks requiring alertness. PRO-BANTHINE reduces sweating which can lead to heatstroke in hot weather. Use caution when engaging in strenuous activity in hot weather. Contact lens wearers may need to use eye lubricants if this medication causes drying of the eyes. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the effects of propantheline. Use cautiously. Propantheline should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if PRO-BANTHINE is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

PRO-BANTHINE DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: amantadine, antihistamines, digoxin, disopyramide, glutethimide, levodopa, meperidine, extended-release potassium chloride tablets, quinidine, tranquilizers, phenothiazines (e.g., chlorpromazine, promethazine), medication for depression, medicine for Parkinson's disease. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

PRO-BANTHINE OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusually dry mouth; excessive thirst; nausea; vomiting; difficulty breathing; blurred vision; dilated pupils; flushed, hot, dry skin; muscle weakness; unusual dizziness or drowsiness; restlessness; disorientation; and seizures.

PRO-BANTHINE NOTES:
Do not share PRO-BANTHINE with others.

MISSED PRO-BANTHINE DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

PRO-BANTHINE STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom.
