MONUROL DESCRIPTION:
FOSFOMYCIN TROMETHAMINE - ORAL (foss-foh-MY-sin)

MONUROL SIDE EFFECTS:
Diarrhea, nausea, headache, dizziness or unusual weakness might occur. If these persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Unlikely but report promptly to your doctor: vaginal discomfort, abdominal pain, skin rash. Very unlikely but report promptly: vision changes, yellowing of the eyes or skin, persistent lack of energy/ill feeling. Notify your doctor immediately if an allergic reaction (however unlikely) occurs while taking MONUROL. Symptoms include: difficulty breathing, itching and swelling of hands/feet/face. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE MONUROL:
MONUROL: Use one packet (sachet) only. This is a single dose treatment. Always dissolve MONUROL in water. Pour the contents of one sachet into at least one-half glass of cold water and stir. Drink the mixture immediately. MONUROL may be taken with or without food. Symptoms should improve within two to three days after taking MONUROL. If symptoms persist, contact your doctor promptly.

MONUROL USES:
MONUROL is used to treat urinary (bladder) infections in women.

MONUROL PRECAUTIONS:
Before taking MONUROL, tell your doctor your medical history, including any allergies, especially drug allergies, or kidney disease. Use of more than one single dose of MONUROL for each bladder infection occurrence does not improve effectiveness, and may cause increased side effects. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before taking this medication. It is not known whether MONUROL is excreted into breast milk. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using MONUROL is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Caution is advised for use in females under 18 years old.

MONUROL DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially metoclopramide. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

MONUROL OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

MONUROL NOTES:
MONUROL has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection or give it to others. A different medication may be needed in those cases.

MISSED MONUROL DOSE:
Not applicable

MONUROL STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture.
