LOTRONEX DESCRIPTION:
ALOSETRON - ORAL (al-OH-seh-tron)

LOTRONEX SIDE EFFECTS:
Headache, or stomach upset may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. If constipation occurs, it may be only temporary. If it occurs, your doctor may recommend use of fiber or laxatives. If no relief occurs after 4 days, consult your doctor immediately. It is possible that alosetron treatment will need to be stopped, especially if you have severe constipation. Consult your doctor or pharmacist promptly for specific advice regarding constipation. Serious complications due to constipation may occur. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these unlikely but serious side effects: bloating, depression. Tell your doctor immediately if you have any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects: bloody stools, unexplained fever, unusually fast pulse, sudden worsening of stomach/abdominal pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE LOTRONEX:
LOTRONEX: Take LOTRONEX by mouth, generally twice daily with or without food. Follow directions carefully; read the manufacturer's informational sheet (Medguide) as well.

LOTRONEX USES:
LOTRONEX is used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in women who have diarrhea as a major symptom. Alosetron is not effective in men with IBS.

LOTRONEX PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, including: allergies, certain intestinal disorders (e.g., ileus, ischemic colitis, constipation or its complications, obstruction, megacolon, stricture/adhesions, or perforation). LOTRONEX should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known whether LOTRONEX passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

LOTRONEX DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription medication you may use, especially of: isoniazid, procainamide, hydralazine. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

LOTRONEX OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

LOTRONEX NOTES:
Do not share LOTRONEX with others.

MISSED LOTRONEX DOSE:
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

LOTRONEX STORAGE:
Store at room temperature, 77 degrees F (25 degrees C), away from light and moisture.
