LORABID DESCRIPTION:
LORACARBEF - ORAL (lor-uh-KAR-beff)

LORABID SIDE EFFECTS:
LORABID may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, and headache. If they continue or become severe, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience: nervousness, insomnia, dizziness. Unlikely to occur but report: fever, easy bleeding or bruising, a change in the amount of urine. Notify your doctor immediately if an allergic reaction occurs while taking LORABID. Symptoms include: difficulty breathing, skin rash, hives, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE LORABID:
LORABID: LORABID should be taken on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating. The liquid suspension form of LORABID must be shaken well before using. It does not have to be refrigerated. Discard any unused portion after 14 days because the drug loses potency.

LORABID USES:
Loracarbef is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.

LORABID PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any allergies you have especially to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics, other antibiotics or other medications. Tell your doctor if you have a history of: kidney disease, colitis or other stomach problems. Use of LORABID for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). LORABID should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Since small amounts of LORABID are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

LORABID DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: probenecid, blood thinners, other antibiotics, live vaccines. Diabetics should be aware LORABID may cause false positive urine glucose tests. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about alternative way to monitor your sugar levels. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

LORABID OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach upset.

LORABID NOTES:
LORABID has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. A different medication may be necessary.

MISSED LORABID DOSE:
If you should miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for the next dose. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose.

LORABID STORAGE:
Store capsules and liquid suspension at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom. Check the expiration date on the liquid suspension and discard any unused medication after that date.
