Drug Name: HUMATIN

HUMATIN DESCRIPTION:
PAROMOMYCIN-ORAL (PAIR-oh-mow-MY-sin)

Humatin

HUMATIN SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea, diarrhea or stomach ache may occur. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop a skin rash, ringing in the ears, hearing trouble or dizziness while taking this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE HUMATIN:
HUMATIN: Take HUMATIN by mouth as directed, usually 3 times a day with meals for 5 to 10 days. This is best taken with food to prevent stomach upset. Take HUMATIN for the full time prescribed. Do not stop taking this without your doctor's approval. Stopping therapy too soon may result in a reinfection.

HUMATIN USES:
HUMATIN is an antibiotic used to treat intestinal infections. It is also used in the treatment of liver disease.

HUMATIN PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have any pre-existing kidney disease, intestinal disorders or any allergies. HUMATIN should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Since small amounts of HUMATIN are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

HUMATIN DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take especially loop diuretics (water pills), digoxin and penicillin and related antibiotics. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

HUMATIN OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

HUMATIN NOTES:
HUMATIN has been prescribed for your current condition only. You should finish taking all of the medication prescribed. Do not save any or take this for any other condition.

MISSED HUMATIN DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

HUMATIN STORAGE:
Store capsules at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom.
