DIPENTUM DESCRIPTION:
OLSALAZINE - ORAL (ohl-SAL-uh-zeen)

DIPENTUM SIDE EFFECTS:
DIPENTUM may cause stomach upset, gas, bloating, nausea, loss of appetite, headache, drowsiness, dizziness or trouble sleeping during the first few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor promptly. Notify your doctor promptly if you develop: diarrhea, stomach pain, rash, itching, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, fever, fatigue. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE DIPENTUM:
DIPENTUM: Take this with food or after meals to prevent stomach upset. The usual dose for adults is two 250mg capsules twice daily taken at evenly spaced intervals. Or take as directed by your doctor. If you are uncertain about your dosing schedule, ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain it to you.

DIPENTUM USES:
DIPENTUM works in the intestine to relieve inflammation. It is used in the treatment of ulcerative colitis.

DIPENTUM PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: kidney problems, asthma, nasal polyps, any allergies (including allergies to sulfasalazine or aspirin-like drugs). This medicine may cause stomach bleeding. Daily use of alcohol, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Check with your doctor or pharmacist for more information. DIPENTUM should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Olsalazine is excreted into breast milk and may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DIPENTUM DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter and prescription medication you may use, especially: warfarin. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

DIPENTUM OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

DIPENTUM NOTES:
Do not share DIPENTUM with others.

MISSED DIPENTUM DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

DIPENTUM STORAGE:
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the bathroom.
