Drug Name: DIBENZYLINE DIBENZYLINE DESCRIPTION: PHENOXYBENZAMINE - ORAL (fen-ox-ee-BEN-zuh-meen) COMMON DIBENZYLINE BRAND NAME(S): Dibenzyline DIBENZYLINE SIDE EFFECTS: Stomach upset, nasal congestion, drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, constricted pupils, inhibition of ejaculation may occur. These effects should subside as your body adjusts to the medication. If they continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: a rapid or pounding heartbeat, fainting, vomiting, unusual weakness. Males - though it is unlikely to occur, if you get a painful, prolonged erection, stop using DIBENZYLINE and seek immediate medical attention. DIBENZYLINE may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. Move from a lying to standing position slowly and be careful on stairs. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. HOW TO USE DIBENZYLINE: DIBENZYLINE: Take DIBENZYLINE by mouth as directed. Your dose may be increased gradually every few days until the desired effect is obtained. Follow dosing instructions closely. DIBENZYLINE USES: DIBENZYLINE acts to lower blood pressure. It is used to control high blood pressure and sweating. This may also be used in the treatment urinary tract disorders. DIBENZYLINE PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: other pre-existing illnesses, allergies. DIBENZYLINE should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Since small amounts of DIBENZYLINE are found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DIBENZYLINE DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, especially of: high blood pressure drugs, drugs for coughs/colds/allergies. Avoid intake of alcohol or other sedating type medications to prevent excessive drowsiness and dizziness. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. DIBENZYLINE OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual dizziness or fainting, rapid pulse, and loss of consciousness. DIBENZYLINE NOTES: During therapy with DIBENZYLINE, your blood pressure will be monitored closely and dosing adjustments may be made frequently. MISSED DIBENZYLINE DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up. DIBENZYLINE STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom.
