DESFERAL MESYLATE SIDE EFFECTS:
Irritation may occur at the injection site. Diarrhea, stomach upset, burning when urinating and leg cramps have also been reported. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: rapid heart rate, fever, itching, skin rash, vision changes, trouble hearing, flushing or dizziness. DESFERAL MESYLATE may turn your urine a reddish color. Do not be alarmed, it is expected. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

HOW TO USE DESFERAL MESYLATE:
DESFERAL MESYLATE: DESFERAL MESYLATE is given by injection by a health care professional. Use DESFERAL MESYLATE as directed. The dose and length of therapy is based on your condition and response.

DESFERAL MESYLATE USES:
DESFERAL MESYLATE binds to iron allowing excess iron to easily be removed from the body. It is used in the treatment of iron poisoning and high iron levels. DESFERAL MESYLATE has also been used to treat high levels of aluminum.

DESFERAL MESYLATE PRECAUTIONS:
Tell your doctor if you have: kidney disease, urinary trouble, blood disorders, allergies. DESFERAL MESYLATE should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if DESFERAL MESYLATE is found in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

DESFERAL MESYLATE DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, including: vitamin C. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

DESFERAL MESYLATE OVERDOSE:
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include rapid heart rate and stomach discomfort.

DESFERAL MESYLATE NOTES:
Laboratory tests may be done while using DESFERAL MESYLATE to monitor its effects.

MISSED DESFERAL MESYLATE DOSE:
It is important for each dose to be used as scheduled. If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.

DESFERAL MESYLATE STORAGE:
Store below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from light. Do not store in the bathroom.
