Drug Name: DENAVIR DENAVIR DESCRIPTION: PENCICLOVIR CREAM - TOPICAL (pen-SICK-low-veer) COMMON DENAVIR BRAND NAME(S): Denavir DENAVIR SIDE EFFECTS: At the site of application, mild redness, irritation, rash, or mild numbness may occur. If these continue or are bothersome, notify your doctor. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. HOW TO USE DENAVIR: DENAVIR: Use as directed, applying a thin layer to the affected area. Use at the first sign of tingling or swelling in the affected area. DENAVIR USES: DENAVIR is used for reoccurring herpes (cold sores or fever blisters) in adults. DENAVIR PRECAUTIONS: Before using DENAVIR, tell your doctor if you have: any allergies. DENAVIR should only be used on sores of the lips and face. Avoid use in or near the eyes, as irritation may occur. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before using this medication. It is not known whether penciclovir is excreted into human milk after applying it to the skin. Before breast-feeding, discuss with your doctor. DENAVIR DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. DENAVIR OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed. DENAVIR NOTES: DENAVIR is not to be shared with others. MISSED DENAVIR DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up. DENAVIR STORAGE: Store at or below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture. Do not freeze. |
