Muscle stiffness, pain and tenderness may occur at the site of injection. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you experience any of these serious side effects: chills, fever, muscle cramps, wheezing, vomiting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. HOW TO USE CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB: CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB: CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB is administered by infusion into a vein by a health care professional. The first dose is given within 3 days of the transplant with additional doses at 2 to 4 week intervals. CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB WARNING: Though unlikely to occur, because this product is made from human plasma, it is possible it may contain substances that could cause infections. Notify your doctor immediately if yoU develop early signs of an infection such as persistent sore throat or fever; or yellowing eyes or skin, or dark urine. Some of these products may also cause kidney problems. Notify your doctor immediately if you notice a change in the amount of urine you discharge. CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB USES: CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB contains antibodies which act against the cytomegalovirus (CMV) thus reducing the incidence of CMV disease in persons undergoing kidney transplants. CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: previous illnesses, blood disorders, any allergies (including any drug allergies). CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB should be use only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is unknown if CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval. CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB NOTES: During the infusion of CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB, you will be monitored closely for any side effects and the dose will be adjusted as necessary. Laboratory tests will be done periodically while using CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB to monitor its effects and prevent side effects. MISSED CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB DOSE: It is important that each dose be used as scheduled. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor who will help establish a new dose schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up. CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOB STORAGE: Begin infusion within 6 hours after reconstitution and complete within 12 hours after reconstitution. Check the expiration date on the label and properly discard of any unused medication after that time. |
